Why You Might Need a Lactation Consultant
Most breastfeeding challenges are fixable — but only if someone shows you how. These are the most common reasons moms book a session.
Latch Pain & Difficulty
Nursing should not hurt. If latching is painful, our consultants can identify and fix the root cause — poor positioning, tongue tie, or shallow latch — in a single session.
Low or Oversupply Concerns
Worried you're not making enough milk — or making too much? A consultant will assess your actual supply, separate myths from facts, and build a plan to regulate production.
Returning to Work & Pumping
Going back to work doesn't mean the end of breastfeeding. Learn how to build a freezer stash, optimise pump settings, and create a schedule that works for your life.
Mastitis & Engorgement
Blocked ducts and mastitis are painful and can escalate quickly. Our consultants will guide you through treatment, prevention, and when to escalate to a doctor.
Newborn Weight & Feeding
Is my baby getting enough? If your newborn has lost weight or feeds constantly, a consultant can assess output, latch depth, and feeding frequency to reassure — or act.
Weaning & Combination Feeding
Whether you're ready to wean or want to introduce formula alongside breastfeeding, we'll help you do it gently, safely, and on your timeline.

Everything you want to know before booking.
A standard session is 45–60 minutes. This gives your consultant enough time to observe a full feed, assess latch and positioning, and make practical adjustments with you in real time.
An IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) is the gold standard credential. It requires 1,000+ hours of clinical training and a rigorous board exam — far beyond a basic lactation certificate. All Roo consultants are IBCLCs.
Absolutely — and we actually recommend it. A prenatal consultation helps you set realistic expectations, practice early positioning, and know exactly what red flags to watch for after delivery. Many moms say this single session made all the difference.
Lactation challenges are incredibly varied. If you're unsure whether a consultant can help, book anyway — in the worst case, they'll refer you to the right specialist. In most cases, they can help more than you'd expect.
Coverage varies. In India, most consultations are paid out-of-pocket at this time. We keep our fees affordable precisely because we know this matters — please check with your insurer for reimbursement eligibility.
Just your phone or laptop, a stable internet connection, and a comfortable space to feed your baby. You don't need any special equipment. Your consultant will guide you through everything else.
Yes — and we encourage it! Partners who understand feeding mechanics are one of the strongest supports a nursing mom can have. They're always welcome.
